Sure, we like cartoons as much as the next guy, but sometimes we watch real people on tv too…

Meet the mastermind behind AMC’s Mad Men as he speaks at the MFA on Thursday, September 30th. A must-attend event for anyone interested in the creative process and any insights into how a show is conceived, written, and executed.

Clambake Animation & Perkins School for the Blind

Clambake Animation donated their studio this summer to record the talented students from The Perkins School for the Blind! The gala was a huge success that brought in 1.4 million for the school and where surprise musical guest Bob Weir performed. Congratulations Perkins School!

Clambake Animation is a Watertown, MA., based full-service animation studio that creates original content and shorts for cable and TV networks, ad agencies, corporations and individual producers. Clambake’s trademark is a humor-driven approach to its animated content. Using well-known comedians, actors record in Clambake’s studio, while the company leads all other aspects of the production process under one roof – content, script writing, artistic design, animation, editing and post-production. Clambake has produced two TV series for Turner Broadcasting/Cartoon Network’s Adult Swim block, and is currently producing a new pilot for the same network. Our TV ads include partnering with Saatchi and Saatchi on a national spot for Cookie Crisp cereal, developing three JPeak ski resort ads and animating an ad for Toyota Scion. Our children’s work includes shorts for Between the Lions (for WGBH), the Electric Company and Design Squad (for PBS). We create both original content and deliver work-for-hire projects. Clambake has five new shows in development.

Pale Nephews

Clambaker André Lyman will be playing with his band, The Pale Nephews, on August 29th at The Lucky Dog in Worcester, MA. This will be their third show after their infamous comeback, and you don’t have to be pale or a nephew to enjoy their sounds. Starting around 10 pm.

Yo! Clambake turned 3 this year, and on April 16th, a celebration was had! This included delicious BBQ from Redbones, a beer donation from Sam Adams, and, of course, a festival showcasing the fine talents of local animation students!

We received millions of submissions (minor exaggeration), but only one could be chosen.

Dock Ellis & The LSD No-No

Dock Phillip Ellis, Jr. pitched his best season for the Pittsburgh Pirates in 1971, when he won 19 games for the World Series champion Pirates. Boston Comic-Con October 24-25

Our favorite comic (Enthusiasts) geeks have given us the inside scoop of what to expect at this year’s Boston Comic-Con. Tim Sale, mastermind artist for “Batman: The Long Halloween”, “Superman For All Seasons”, and The “Heroes” Graphic Novel will be paneling both days of the event! Yes, we said BOTH days! Also attending is Wolverine Co-Creator Herb Trimpe and “Elektra Assasin” artist Bill Sienkiwicz. Whoa, makes us dizzy just thinking. See you there! Don’t forget your cosplay!
